This year, triple j’s Hack found that, of all public board members in the Australian music industry, just 35 percent of them were women. While there’s been much positive talk about eliminating the social stigma around hiring women in executive positions, figures such as these do not yet show much improvement in practice.
In this session, we’ll hear a diverse array of stories from artists and industry figures who’ve continued to thrive in their creative career after becoming a mother. A session that will inspire and educate people of all genders and dispel outdated concerns about the limitations of new mothers in positions of power in the music industry.
