Vanessa Burt

Vanessa Burt has been a music industry professional for over 20 years. After seeing the Richmond hardcore legends AVAIL play at a church in New Jersey, she decamped for San Francisco, attending the University of San Francisco and falling into the Mission District punk scene. She threw shows in her basement and toured the country, assisting at Dill Records before moving to Fat Wreck Chords shortly thereafter. Burt has been there for 22 years, where she is currently the Head of Publicity and Marketing, managing the label’s full roster in that time, from NOFX, Lagwagon, and Against Me! to Bad Cop/Bad Cop and more. In 2006, she formed Mutiny PR.
